WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Farmers can attend a shearing school at Purdue University from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 18 at Purdue's Sheep Center. The event is sponsored by the Indiana Sheep and Wool Market Development Program and hosted by the Indiana Sheep Association. The cost to attend is $50 and includes the workshop, lunch and access to shearing equipment, although guests are encouraged to bring their own equipment if possible.'There is a continuous need for young and new sheep shearers as the older generations retire,' said Gerald Kelly, manager of the Purdue Sheep Center and shearing school co-organizer.
